Atlanta Motor Speedway officials have announced NASCAR team owner Joe Gibbs will deliver the pre-race invocation just before the Emory Healthcare 500 Sprint Cup Series race on Sunday, September 5, 2010.
Following Gibbs' invocation, Ernie Haase & Signature Sound will perform the National Anthem. A flyover of four F-15 C/D Eagle fighter jets from the Naval Air Station Joint Reserve Base New Orleans in Belle Chasse, Louisiana concludes pre-race activities as drivers get buckled in for 500 miles of night racing. |

NASCAR drivers Joey Logano, Elliott Sadler, Justin Allgaier and Aric Almirola are scheduled to participate in a Goodyear tire test at Talladega Superspeedway on Tuesday and track officials will have grandstands open to the public at no charge.
“Our close relationship with Goodyear has allowed us to open our grandstands for a test session that normally would be closed to the public,” said Talladega Superspeedway Chairman Grant Lynch. “This is an important test for Goodyear as they work on tire combinations for the AMP Energy 500 on Oct. 31 and next year’s Daytona 500.” |

Kyle Busch has become the first driver in NASCAR history to win all three national touring series events in the same week after claiming Saturday's Irwin Tools Night Race at Bristol Motor Speedway.
Busch won the Truck race Wednesday night and the Nationwide race Friday night at the "World's Fastest Half Mile" before dominating the Sprint Cup race Saturday night. Busch led 284 laps of the 500-lap event, crossing the finish line 0.68 seconds ahead of David Reutimann to complete the triple sweep. |
