Edwards Draws Budweiser Shootout Pole
Written by Lindsey Marks

carl-edwardsCarl Edwards had lady luck on his side during the drawing for Budweiser Shootout starting positions last night.

The race, which will be broken into a 25-lap segment and a 50-lap segment, is scheduled for Saturday, February 6th at 6:30pm ET.

Kevin Harvick nabbed the outside pole but will have to start from the back of the field because he did not practice his car during yesterday’s practice sessions. He is battling the flu and Clint Bowyer was behind the wheel during practice before being collected in a wreck during the first practice session.

Brian Vickers and Ryan Newman will start 3rd and 4th, respectively, followed by Greg Biffle. NASCAR’s most popular driver, Dale Earnhardt Jr., will start 11th and defending four-time champion Jimmie Johnson will roll off 16th.

Veteran drivers Ken Schrader and Derrike Cope will take the green flag in the Budweiser Shootout. They will start 14th and 18th, respectively.
