Junior Talks About Father's NASCAR Hall Induction

The inaugural class for the NASCAR Hall of Fame was announced on October 14th, 2009. The class, consisting of Bill France Sr., Bill France Jr., Richard Petty, Junior Johnson and Dale Earnhardt Sr. will be inducted into the brand new hall on May 23rd, 2010.

 

HardcoreRaceFans.com spoke with Dale Earnhardt Jr. about his father’s future induction and the selection process.

 

25 nominees were originally chosen for the inaugural class. 51 votes were cast to determine the first five inductees. 50 votes came from the NASCAR Hall of Fame Voting Panel and one ballot came from a nationwide fan vote that was conducted through NASCAR.com.

 

Construction of the NASCAR Hall of Fame began on January 25, 2007 in Charlotte, NC and the opening of the completed facility is scheduled for May 11, 2010.
