NASCAR driver A.J. Allmendinger, with co-drivers John Pew, Oswaldo Negri and Justin Wilson, secured Michael Shank Racing its first victory in the 50th Annual Rolex 24 Hours of Daytona Sunday at Daytona International Speedway.

Allmendinger held a 5.1 second lead over polesitter Ryan Dalziel at the finish with Felipe Nasr, driving a second MSR entry, third.

Ford claimed the first three positions in the grueling 24-hour event that began Saturday at 3:30 p.m. ET.

"I'm so worn out," Allmendinger said in Victory Lane. "This is for Shank, man. He works harder than anybody I know," Allmendinger said of his team owner.

Defending race champions, Chip Ganassi Racing with drivers Scott Pruett, Graham Rahal, Memo Rojas and Joey Hand, were running second with a little more than one hour remaining when a broken gear box ended their chance of a repeat win and sent the team to sixth in the final rundown.

The No. 44 Magnus Racing Porsche GT3 with Richard Lietz aboard won the GT class. Leitz shared the driving duties with Andy Lally, Rene Rast and John Potter.
