NASCAR Chase Invades Charlotte; TV Schedule

NASCAR comes home to Charlotte Motor Speedway this weekend for the only night race of the 2012 Chase. The Nationwide Series joins the Sprint Cup Series at the historic 1.5-mile oval while the Truck Series takes a break.


Roush Racing swept the 2011 October weekend in Charlotte with Matt Kenseth winning the Sprint Cup race and Carl Edwards going to Victory Lane after 300 miles of Nationwide action.


Thursday kicks off the weekend in Charlotte with Nationwide Series practice at 2:00 p.m. followed by Sprint Cup Series practice at 3:30 p.m. Final Nationwide practice begins at 6:10 p.m. with Sprint Cup Series qualifying closing out the night at 7:10 p.m. All can be seen on ESPN2.


Friday’s schedule includes Sprint Cup Series practice at 3:00 p.m. then Nationwide Series qualifying at 4:05 p.m. Sprint Cup Happy Hour gets underway at 5:50 p.m., live on ESPN2. On track action wraps up with the stars of the Nationwide Series under the lights in the running of the Dollar General 300 live on ESPN at 7:00 p.m. with NASCAR Countdown. Driver introductions also begin at 7:00 p.m.


The fifth Chase race of 2012 takes place Saturday Night with the running of the Bank of America 500. Tune to ABC at 7:00 p.m. for NASCAR Countdown then live race coverage with the green waving shortly after 7:30 p.m.
