NASCAR Camping World Truck Series- T.J. Bell
Written by Lindsey Marks

tj-bellT.J. Bell drives the No. 11 Toyota Tundra for Red Horse Racing in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series. The 2009 season was the first full season for Bell in a truck, but he had previously made 47 starts in the series since 2003.

Bell, a 29-year old Nevada native, began racing go-karts at an early age and won multiple state championships before moving to the SCA Formula 2000 series in 1997. In 2000 and 2001, he ran in the CART Atlantic Toyota Championship series as the youngest driver to compete.

He raced Sportscar Endurace events in 2002 including some of the major races, the 24 Hours of Daytona, 12 Hours of Sebring, 24 Hours of LeMans and the Petit LeMans.

Bell made his first Camping World Truck Series start the next year at the age of 22 in the No. 7 truck for TRG Motorsports. He ran in 12 events that year and had an average finish of 24.9 and accumulated two “Rookie of the Race” awards.

In 2004, Bell left the Truck Series to run the ARCA RE/MAX schedule and earned “Rookie of the Year” honors for the series after finishing 3rd in the overall point standings.

He made his return to NASCAR in 2005 by running in one Truck Series race and made eight starts in the Nationwide Series while also running in ARCA. 2006 was a rough year for Bell as he was unable to run the entire ARCA schedule due to a lack of funding and he only made one start in the Truck Series.

The next two years saw Bell back behind the wheel of a truck. He made 16 starts in 2007 with one top-10 finish and 17 starts in 2008 earning seven top-10 finishes. tj-bell

Last year, Bell ran the complete Truck schedule in the No. 11 and earned one top-5 finish in the second race of the year at Auto Club Speedway and five top-10 finishes.

In 2010, Bell will once again drive for Red Horse Racing along with current teammate Timothy Peters and new teammate Justin Lofton.
