HardcoreRaceFans.com has obtained documentation from the Rowan County, North Carolina Register of Deeds office stating that NASCAR Sprint Cup Series driver and reigning Nationwide Series champion Kyle Busch has purchased the Xpress Motorsports race shop located in Mooresville, NC.
The records indicate the property transaction took place Monday, December 7th between Busch and the family of driver Brian Scott who will no longer need the facility since he will be driving for Braun Racing in the NASCAR Nationwide Series next year. Busch’s new team, Kyle Busch Motorsports, will operate out of the purchased facility until the construction on his new shop is complete. Veteran crew chief Rick Ren confirmed last Friday on Sirius Radio that he has agreed to join the new team in a managerial position after announcing his exit from Kevin Harvick Inc. last week. Ren called the shots for KHI driver Ron Hornaday for the past three years and earned two series championships, including the most recent, with the now 4-time Truck Series champion. The official announcement from Kyle Busch is scheduled for this Friday, December 11th at 2pm ET on SPEED. MORE NASCAR NEWS
