Kyle Busch Announces NASCAR Truck Ownership
Written by Andrew McClellan
Friday, 11 December 2009 21:52

kyle-buschKyle Busch announced earlier today his new race team, Kyle Busch Motorsports, will field two full time NASCAR Camping World Truck Series efforts, beginning in 2010.

Busch and Brian Ickler will share the seat of the #18 Miccosukee Resort and Gaming sponsored KBM Toyota for the 2010 season, while Tayler Malsam will run the full schedule behind the wheel of the #56 Talking Rain sponsored truck.

"Everyone knows how much I love to race, and the Camping World Truck Series is one of my favorite places to race, so to be a team owner in this series is a perfect match," said Kyle Busch. "I'm also very pleased with our driver lineup, having young and talented guys like Tayler Malsam and Brian Ickler."

Rick Ren, who left Kevin Harvick, Inc. last week, has joined KBM and was named director of competition for the team during the announcement.

"I think Kyle, for a young man, has a lot on his plate and a lot of opportunities," said Ren. "For me to get to work with him and his company on a day-to-day basis is a pretty good opportunity, and I'm just glad to be a part of it."

KBM purchased the Xpress Motorsports shop in Mooresville, North Carolina earlier this week and will operate from that location until construction on the new KBM shop is completed.

Announcements regarding crew chiefs for the #18 and #56 KBM Toyoya teams are expected soon.

A third KBM team with former NASCAR Truck Series champion Johnny Benson as driver is being planned if adequate sponsorship can be found.
