Bass Pro Sponsoring Dillon In Truck Series
Written by Lindsey Marks
Tuesday, 19 January 2010 17:18

austin-dillonAustin Dillon, the young grandson of legendary NASCAR team owner Richard Childress, will make his full-time debut in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series in 2010.

He will pilot the No. 3 Bass Pro Shops Chevrolet Silverado.

“At seven years old I started hunting and had a hunting license ever since. It’s really cool I mean I don’t think there’s a better sponsor that could fit me any better,” Dillon said. “I just feel lucky to have a great sponsor like that behind me.”

Dillon unveiled his new camouflage paint scheme with Childress today.

On top of being a fairly new NASCAR driver, Dillon has the added pressure of re-introducing the No. 3 to the racetrack. His debut last year was the first time the famed number had been run in NASCAR since the death of Dale Earnhardt.

Luckily, hardcore race fans have reacted favorably to seeing the famous number back on the track with Dillon behind the wheel.

“So far the fans have been really welcoming to it,” Dillon said. “I haven’t had any complaints or anything and I put pressure on myself to run well with it. I hope they all know that I’m going to do what I can to get the truck up front.”
