Dillon Starts Truck Season With Daytona Pole

austin-dillonAustin Dillon captured the pole for Friday night's NASCAR Camping World Truck Series race at Daytona after circling the high-banked superspeedway at 179.047 mph in qualifying Thursday night.



James Buescher qualified second with a lap of 178.423 mph followed by Ron Hornaday Jr., Nelson Piquet Jr. and Ricky Carmichael. Piquet's roof was found to be to low in post-qualifying inspection and he will now have to start from the back.


Elliott Sadler, Matt Crafton, Joey Coulter, Johnny Sauter and Brad Sweet rounded out the top-10.


Rick Crawford, Cole Whitt, Tayler Malsam, Chris Eggleston, Alli Owens, Mike Skinner, Jamie Dick, Brent Raymer, Grant Enfinger and Clay Greenfield did not make the field.
