Written by Zach Davis
Friday, 18 December 2009 10:16

arca-racing-seriesNormally a beautiful sunny place, Daytona International Speedway is wet and dreary for today’s first ARCA Racing Series presented by RE/MAX and Menards test day.

The three-day event is in preparation for the series’ season opening race the Lucas Oil Slick Mist 200 schedule for Saturday, February 6th at DIS.

The field of drivers planning to participate in this weekend’s event include multiple international competitors including India’s Narain Karthikeyan, Hong Kong native Darryl O’Young, Canadians Steve Arpin, Wheeler Boys, Derek White and Terry Jones.

Also involved are female IndyCar drivers Danica Patrick and Venezuela’s Milka Duno.arca-racing-series

Despite the star-studded field, the skies do not look to clear up any time soon. According to Weather.com, Daytona has a 100 percent chance of rain and some thunder storms through 2pm today local time. After 2, the chances hover around 50% until 9pm tonight.
