Joey Logano Wins Kansas; NASCAR Results![]() Joey Logano earned his fifth victory of the season in Sunday’s Hollywood Casino 400 at Kansas Speedway. The win guarantees Logano a berth in the third round of the Chase for the Sprint Cup.
Kansas opened the second round with four drivers being eliminated after the next two races at Charlotte and Talladega. Round three includes Martinsville, Texas and Phoenix. “It makes Talladega a lot easier that is for sure,” Logano said of his Kansas win. “To know we are onto the next round we can focus on a few more races coming up and we will keep trying to capitalize like we are doing.” Logano led 122 laps of the 267-lap race and crossed the finish line .479-seconds ahead of Kyle Larson. Kyle Busch finished third, followed by Martin Truex, Jr. and Carl Edwards. Ryan Newman, Denny Hamlin, Austin Dillon, Paul Menard and Brian Vickers rounded out the top 10. Chasers with tire problems included Kasey Kahne (22nd), Brad Keselowski (36th), and Dale Earnhardt, Jr., who finished 39th. Jimmie Johnson wrecked early and was 40th in the 43-car field. Keselowski, Kahne, Earnhardt and Johnson head to Charlotte for Saturday night’s Bank of America 500 ranked as the bottom four in the Chase. Logano leads the point standings over Kyle Busch and Carl Edwards with six races remaining on the 2014 NASCAR schedule. Hollywood Casino 400 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Results 1. Joey Logano 2.
